Very Good

It’s a really nice hotel , very close to the city center, the staff always there to help.

My room the shower wasn’t that hot and the sauna you have to go without any swimming clothes which for me is not interested.

A lovely location in a nice town.

A lovely breakfast with all sorts 10/10 Pool was lovely 10/10

The hairdryer didn't work in one of the rooms and cleanness on the stairs to go to the pool was dirty.

Excellent location

Location excellent. Breakfast excellent. Spa facilities were good too. Receptionist very nice and knowledgeable.

The hot water was hit and miss, did not enjoy the cold showers in the mornings at all. Bar staff were very slow.

Wonderful

Location was perfect. We had a very kind waiter called Tibor who served us during dinner.

The two separate twin bed. It was a bit annoying for us.

I had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend the place

Breakfast was good, lots of choices. Pool was lovely and so was the sauna. Staff was terrific so friendly and eager to help. Bed linens top notch. I really enjoyed the bar/coffee and reading area. Quiet location just a 5 minute walk to center of historic area of town.

Things are a little old and beat up - its a great retro 1970's feel that could use a little sprucing up.

Good Value for money

Great pool and sauna options on a good location.

Breakfast was a bit odd since bacon and eggs were regulated by staff serving you and they were overwhelmed by the amount of people. Good selection of food though.

A great location with very friendly staff - just a few little things to improve on

The pool and sauna were lovely. The lobby was very welcoming with a beautiful Xmas tree. The bar staff were friendly. The location was fantastic with a car park. My room had lovely tall windows with a great view.

The breakfast room was not big enough for the number of guests. It was difficult to find a seat, difficult to walk to get to the food. You had to queue for 5-10 mins to get your freshly made eggs or omelet. The omelet was very tasty though. Breakfast was not very relaxing. My room fridge did not work. The water for the shower was not very warm. There were horrible cracks in my sink.

Parts of the hotel are old which can have problems but it served a purpose and was a great location

We did not indulge in the spa or breakfast facilities as we were there for the Christmas experience that is Volkenburg. Coffee making facilities in the room were acceptable but the possibility of making 2 cups each would have been nice. The shower pressure was superb as was the bed & pillows etc, one of the best nights sleep in a hotel ever which was surprising given my comment below.

The stench from the bathroom was totally overpowering which obviously entered into the sleeping area every time the bathroom door was opened. I believe it was coming from the shower/sink drain but only minimally improved after taking a shower/wash.

We had a fantastic weekend but the room size killed it a little for us.

Location is fantastic plus the parking. The pool was also fantastic. Good size and warm. Breakfast was ok. People were helpful and friendly.

The rooms. I paid an extra €40,00 for an upgrade from basic room to comfort room. No one could explain to me the difference. The rooms was dreadfully small. The shower and toilet area were built for children. I have never seen such smaller shower and toilets area anywhere on my travels. Shower area was about 50 cm x 50 cm with a plastic curtain hanging on a rail to stop the splashing. Sitting on the toilet my knees were under the wash basin. The beds were really over soft and the TV channels were very limited for such a star hotel. No English channels (BBC 1, 2 or 3). TV was also very small. Thus the rooms killed the weekend there for us. They don't live up to rest of the hotel. We were on 0 (zero) floor. Also the bar was of poor quality. They couldn't make any cocktails because they had run out of the various ingredients to make them. No excuse on the first Friday night of the Christmas Market. The hotel was packed. Pity. We loved Valkenburg

Good hotel, nice location. Good breakfast. Bathrooms are very dated and could be improved.

Bathroom - The bathroom curtain rail fell off while we were giving bath to our 1 year old. Absolutely terrible hairdryers from the 1980s.

Great stay, would definitely go back!!

All hotel staff were very helpful, breakfast was absolutely wonderful, room was very nice with spacious and updated bathroom.

The bed was was almost too soft, but still comfortable. Hot tub could have been hotter.

Old but charming hotel

The staff was very welcoming. Location of the hotel was very accessible when you want to do the touristy stuff. Breakfast was super worth it! The parking was also not a problem. Check in and check out were fast & easy.

With the price, the hotel could do a little renovation although the old vibe adds to its charm. The furniture & fixtures just look old. The online self check - in could be a problem to those who don't like technology.

Autumn in Valkenburg, we will be back!

Its a lovely large old vintage hotel surrounded by greenery and has a great view over the roves of Valkenberg and when the sun hits them in Autumn they turn almost gold! We loved the spa and wellness centre that was a lovely treat to be able to relax for hours there and its available to all guests at no extra charge. The staff were great!

Only the price is very expensive for your stay and what you get. Its a lovely hotel but for that price you would expect the small things to be better, actual milk, better hair dryer, doors that dont rattle in the wind. But overall the stay really was great!

We liked the swimmingpool, the fitness, the sauna and the comfortable beds

Great place to stay.

Great place to stay. The check in was quick and easy. The breakfast was fantastic. The sauna was really nice after a hard weekend. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was really nicely done. Its also super close to the castle and other restaurants. I would recommend and I would stay there again.

You could hear the noise from the street in my room but it wasn't that bad. It took me a while to see that the main door is facing away from the street on the 3rd floor

Awesome

Lovely hotel in very convenient location. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Wonderful terrace.

We had booked one of the more expensive rooms with a balcony, but were a bit disappointed at the size of the room, which was exceedingly small and definitely not 4* as the hotel is rated. There was no desk and the bed did not have a bedside table on one side, so my husband had to balance his water, book etc. on the floor in front of the door to the bathroom.
